‘Enough indie-pop guitar music!’ I may well hear you cry. In general, this is a perfectly permissible statement. However, four-piece London/Cambridge/Manchester band Careless Sons have proven themselves more than capable of carving their own melodic niche in such a market. The emotive drive of tracks such as ‘’Rosary’’ lift Careless Sons into a state most other bands of their ilk strain for, and provides them with a scintillating edge live. In support of their Carbon Dating EP, the band are due to fill Maguire’s Pizza Bar with the kind of lush, evocative sounds they have begun to build a name for themselves on. A name that, in due course, will make you reassess our earlier statement, and decide that, perhaps, there’s room for one or two more.
