Student Officer Elections 2018- Who’s Been Voting So Far?

Election week is well underway, and as of the end of Tuesday evening around 8.28% of the student body have cast their vote. How do we know this? Well, thanks to a handy little information rabbit hole of a webpage, the Guild now allows us to know how many- and what kind of- people have been doing their student civic duty.

The average voter is, unsurprisingly, less likely to be a fresh-faced fresher, with the mean voting age resting at 21.08 years. If they give their gender, they are also more likely to be female than anything else- 9.08% of female students have voted, compared to 7.31% of males. The infographic also allows you to take a peek at which groups and societies have been casting the most votes- with East African and Tai Chi joint leaders at 100%.

If you haven’t voted yet, you have until 2 pm on Friday the 9th of March! You can do so online by clicking on the ‘Vote Now’ banner on the  Guild Website– or you can vote at stations available at selected times during the day around both libraries or the Guild.
