England power through to quarter final of World Cup

Following a 2-1 win against Norway, England have made it through to the quarter finals of the Women’s World Cup.

The highly rated Norwegian team were first to score, with Solveig Gulbrandsen hitting the back of the net nine minutes after half time.

England’s equalizer came in the form of a header from Steph Houghton.

Lucy Bronze then sealed Norway’s fate with a right-footed shot that bounced off Norwegian goalkeeper Ingrid Hjelmseth’s hand and into the net.

The England team will now face hosts Canada in Vancouver for their quarter final tie.
