Harry Potter play set for 2016

Yes. You read that correctly.

It has been almost eight years since Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was first published, but now comes the news that JK Rowling’s Harry Potter stage play will open in the West End next year.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, is said to include insight into James and Lily Potter’s lives.

The script of the play is a collaboration between Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, who will also direct the play.

According to WhatsOnStage, the play will debut at London’s Palace Theatre in the summer of 2016.

Rowling chose today to announce the news because it is exactly 18 years since her first Harry Potter novel, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, was first published in the UK.
