Teenager in court for the murder of LJMU student

Liam Miller, a 20 year old graphic design student at Liverpool John Moores University, was stabbed to death on Monday.

Following his returning home to Yorkshire for the summer holidays, the talented musician was found outside a semi-detached house in Hamilton Drive West, York, with multiple stab wounds. Liam later died in hospital as a result of his injuries.

On Monday, it was reported that a man who tried to help him was also stabbed in the attack, and a 19 year old man was arrested on suspicion of murder. The suspect was suffering from a self-inflicted knife wound.

Last night, 19 year old Samuel Frederick Donley was charged with Liam’s murder.

Today, Donley appeared in court where it was announced he would be remanded in custody until his appearance at Leeds crown court on 4th August.

Tributes have flooded in for the murdered student with his course mates describing how much he will be missed.

Liam had intended to specialise in illustration in his second year of study at John Moores.
