Between the 9th November and 14th November, LIVISOC raised £34,197.52 for the Human Relief Foundation.
The Islamic Society made this staggering amount through holding a charity week. Various events took place including an auction at which one generous person bought a chocolate cake for £2000. 80 people also scaled Snowdon, raising £20,000 of the final figure in just one event.
According to the LGoS website, Tahira Akbar, who headed the charity drive, said:
“The love and support has been second to none, raising £34K was a true team effort, and we only hope our efforts are accepted. Thanks to everyone involved and to everyone who supported us.”
